We’re at it again!!

Big news! We are just about to hit the road. We depart on July 2nd for our summer family adventure.

Packing in a downpour…

Well, we are almost ready to hit the road, but today has been one of storms. The girls got some extra spending cash by detailing the van this morning (which was nice for daddy).

Luckily this all happened before the rain really set in. This is what we’ve been looking at in radar tonight. The thunder and lightning has been CRAZY.

Still, the trail mix has been made and stashed away for safe keeping…

…and the backpacks… all 8 (backpacking and day packs) have been loaded in the roof box! So excited to be heading towards the mountains!

Bags are getting packed and food is being sorted into tubs.

Here we go!

This is the first official post of the blog! It really doesn’t say much, but you need something as the inaugural post. Part of the fun of the girls growing up is the ability to start to introduce them to new things. We bought backpacks at REI and then pulled out “mommy and daddy’s bin(s)” from storage to play with all of. the stuff. It also required a tent set-up in the family room. Yes, our “January Tree” was still up. Don’t judge…
